Professional Bio: Richard Zhang graduated from Virginia Tech in 2024 with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Chemistry. During his time at Virginia Tech, he conducted research under Professor Adrian Figg, focusing on installing single monomers within acrylic polymers using photoredox catalysis. He also worked under Professor Richey Davis to develop microfluidic devices for binding streptavidin-coated nanoparticles to bacteria. Currently, Richard is co-advised by Professor Catherine Fromen, and his research focuses on engineering mRNA cargo loading of macrophage-derived extracellular vesicles using nanoparticle-driven strategies.

Fun Bio: In his free time, Richard enjoys cooking, hiking, and playing video games with friends.
